    Cake Smash Shoot-Beckett’s First Birthday!

I can’t believe this day is already here!  My sweet Beckett James is ONE!  This first year has just flown by.  I have been so blessed to watch him grow and meet new milestones.  He is our little peanut baby who lovesss to eat!  He rolled over for the first time when he was two weeks old.   His first word was “dada” (*eye rolls*).   Sat up at seven months, crawled at eight months, and took his first steps a few weeks before his first birthday!  I can’t wait to see where life takes you sweet boy and I’m so honored that I get to watch you grow each step of…

    Happy Holidays with Snapfish!

I can’t believe how quickly the holidays have snuck up on us!  There is always so much to do.  This year we decided for the first time ever to create and send out Christmas cards!  Growing up, we would get countless Christmas cards from family and friends, and my mom would hang them up on our fridge.  With each passing year, I loved looking back and seeing how everyone had changed.  Whether it was the children getting older or more family member being added to the mix, it was always so fun to look back on!  I wanted to create those same memories with my family and share that same…

I Am More Than Just A Mother

Two years ago, I became a mother.  It was one of the best days of my life.  From the moment I stared into those little boy’s eyes, my world was filled with so much love and joy.  I love being a mother and I know this is what God intended for my life.  However, I am more than just a mother and I feel that over time I have forgotten that and lost a little bit of who I am.  I am a mother, I am a wife, I am a friend, and I am me. Life pre-babies, I used to love spending time with my family, hanging out with my…

    A Victory Over My Anxiety

“Overcome anxiety by building faith in your ability to overcome uncertainty” This past weekend we took the boys to the zoo.  If I’m being honest I have avoided taking the boys out in public or on family outings because of my anxiety.  We all know how difficult it can be taking small kids out.  The thought of it would make me panic and sweat.  Different scenarios would play out in my head.  I could see the boys having epic meltdowns and peoples eyes burning into our souls.  I imagine forgetting something really important like the bottles or pacifiers.  I fear something happening to Jackson like if we turn away for…

Thank You For The Gift I Never Knew I Needed

“I didn’t give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you” The day that I found out I was pregnant with Jackson is one that I will never forget.  It was unexpected and filled with emotions I didn’t know I would feel.   My husband and I got married at the end of August, and shortly after getting back from our honeymoon, I began to feel sick.  I was nauseous and had to pee all the time.  I went to the doctors because I wanted to figure out what was wrong.  I took a urine test to determine if the cause was one of two things:…

    Birth Story Q&A

“Birth is not only about making babies.  Birth is about making mothers-strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.” -Barbara Katz Rothman Hi guys!  Welcome to my birth story!  Well, not my birth story, but my boys!  I thought I would do this a little differently and do it Q&A style.  This way I can talk about both boys labor and delivery experiences 🙂  So here we go! Did you go into labor naturally? With Jackson I was induced at 38 weeks due to a condition called Cholestasis.  I hated being induced and prayed that I would never have to be induced again.  The labor was longer…

    Tomorrow Sleep

My husband and I have been on the hunt for a new mattress for awhile.  We were so excited when Tomorrow Sleep sent us a mattress to try out.  We have had our new mattress for about a month now and I am so happy to share my thoughts on it.  Spoiler alert: We love it! We chose the Queen size, medium firm mattress.  Our old mattress was lumpy and way too soft.  My husband and I woke up with back pain almost every morning, and some nights would actually choose to sleep on the couch!  We had had enough and were ready to start the search for a new mattress.  Tomorrow Sleep…

    Bathroom Makeover on a Budget!

Ever since we moved into our new apartment nearly a year ago, our guest bathroom is one of the spaces that I have been dying to give a bit of a face lift to!  I had outgrown the old color scheme and patterns and wanted to go for a whole new aesthetic!  I love interior design…HGTV is my jam!  I’m passionate about design but I’m also just as passionate about doing it on a budget!  Lets face it, being a one income household does not leave us much wiggle room for extra expenses.  I wanted to show you guys that it is possible to make your space into a place…

    Season of change

“The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join in the dance” -Alan W. Watts One thing I love about where I live is that I get to experience all four seasons.  As one season begins to end, I gear up to embrace the new one to come.  Much like the changing seasons, I am about to enter a season of change of my own.  I am getting ready to transition from a family of three, to a family of four.  To be honest, I haven’t quite embraced it like I do the changing weather.  Don’t get me wrong, I…
